Tina McPherson

Houston-based multi-media artist, Tina McPherson moved from Washington, DC to Houston in 2003. Tina is the Library Supervisor of the William R. Jenkins Architecture & Art Library at the University of Houston and Design Advocacy Director for AIGA Houston. She earned a B.A. in Art History from George Mason University and Graphic Communications from the Art Institute of Houston, and will be graduating in May 2012 with a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas.

Tina has a passion for awareness and self-exploration projects. She examines the notion that life is a highly complicated mystery that humans must understand with rational thought and intelligence. Through her art, photography and design, her goal is to explore, engage and spark dialogue in order to help one discover and achieve this understanding.

She recently climbed Huayna Picchu, a mountain in Peru around which the Urubamba River bends, rising over  Machu Picchu.
