Shoe Fetish: Mixed Media

This is a piece I was working on for a mixed media class. What you see below is the building of the frame around the encaustic painting. The completed piece was a nod to Jasper Johns.

Being a shoe designer as well I was attempting to merge the two realms of my artistic existence.  The process started with just a drawing.

Encaustic is an art form  of painting with wax. This series of pictures is more or less step by step of how this piece was constructed.
