<Maria Bonita was both a warrior's wife and friend. For more than 20 years, Maria Bonita was the wife of Lampião, the king of the Cangaço. She was the cactus of the sertão, meaning she was strong and a fighter on the outside and sweet and delicate on the inside.

A new Nordeste painting

A new Nordeste painting is in the process of being created. This is part of the of Nordeste series and is called Boia Fria "cold food" since they take theirr food to field daily and don't have resources like microwaves or an oven to warm up the food,this is why it is usually called " Boia Fria "

This piece is not similar to my usual work that I like to show. The initial reaction bu others (especially if you had seen my previous/usual work) is not necessarily positive in comparison. This new work came from a unconscious, internal inspiration that starts in a split second, while doing everything else simultaneously. Inspiration is not predicted but a nice flow begins when the canvas comes to life. It may come from sometimes doing other paintings, while cleaning a brush with left over paint, etc. It is my freedom in art time,,,, is the moments when you least expect it!

This is the first of a series of collaborative works by the Montrose Art Society.
It was created by Tony and Nico in collaboration with the Montrose Art Society.
It's the second panel of a diptich. The first panel is in process and will be ready soon.
This work will be showcased at the upcoming show in November 12th and 13th.
